We have a strange tradition at Easter time... we celebrate the secular on Saturday and the religious on Sunday but that's not the strange part... it's all the STRING!
Dad gets a big ball of yarn per child and then runs it all over the house-- over doors, under furniture, in and out of cupboards, up and down stairs, looped together etc etc etc. At the end of the string is each child's Easter Basket. He is careful to make them double back and go all over so you can't just look, you have to crawl over and under furniture and carefully untangle knots-- your string may or may not be a different color than your siblings depending on what Dad swipes from mom's craft supplies!
The kids LOVE it! Dad does too as is evidenced by the kids comments of "Dad really had fun this year huh!" and "He sure likes teasing us!". We also do a back yard egg hunt-- this years was pretty lame cuz mom & dad are both really sick but they loved it anyways! Here are some pictures of the fun! Next year he is planning on taking the older kids strings out side... I think perhaps it's time he bought his own yarn!

Oh, and here is something interesting/disturbing... a new bill which is worded such that it could keep you from growing your own veges-- even if you don't sell them! It will also destroy small and organic farms. They need to change the wording so as not to hurt those they "don't intend" to target-- and they won't change it unless lots of people pester them.
