Nature Walk

Today we went on a nature walk and waded in the river… S was brave enough to cross the river—it was up to his waist and had a decent current so that was no small feat for my usually timid boy. H only made it half way and then was frightened by a crayfish--later she begged to go back so she could try to catch it! I didn't let the younger ones even try to cross.

While climbing down a rather steep embankment E turned to me with a look of pure joy and said, “Mom! We’re like real hikers!!” Later as we walked on the bike path back to the park, T saw a greyhound dog that was white with black spots and said, “Look mom, a cow!”

Ah, the magic of ordinary days!

P.S. Tabi's surgery has been re-scheduled for the 25th.

cute.

We were watching gladiator on USA.
Finn kept pointing to the TV and saying "Look at the cows", and we kept telling him they were horses.
He insisted they were cows.
Charles finally said "Yes Finn, the Roman Army raided the countryside riding cows".

So what surgery does Tabi need?
Nature walks are some of the greatest joys of life. Good job mom.
